My goal as a teacher is to help people learn and experience their body in small easy to manage steps. I teach them how to feel it and control it.
I mirror this in the way I interact with my students. I use my senses to see what they understand and what they don't understand so that I can adjust instructions and exercises accordingly.
I view yoga classes as a partnership between teacher and student. But when the occasion requires I also take charge. While I can be clearly focused and intent on what I am trying to teach, I occasionally (but only occasionally) invite laughter and fun into my classes. Actually, I am so intent on teaching the basics so that the students in my class can have fun doing the fun stuff. (and there is always the option to rest should they choose to.)
Devoted to basic principles, developing them and applying them in various contexts. In addtion understanding what consciousness is so that we can practice being more consciousness. Ultimately about how we relate to ourselves and what is around us and sensing the real relationship (the truth) so that we can maximize potential and realize it.
Applying "consciousness" to complexity and difficulty, this site is devoted to using the practice of "Dance of Shiva" to train consciousness and the ability to flow. It uses the whole system of the dance of shiva as a metaphor for complexity and a less on in how to handle complexity, maximize potential, experience and express life.
Currently there is no simple, easy or useful way of understanding the body and how that undertanding can be used to help people do a yoga pose (or anything else.) This is an attempt to provide people with "accesable" anatomy information as well as instruction on how to learn to feel and control the body in simple, easy and efficient steps. The notion is that we are all smart or intelligent. The emphasis here is on helping teachers release their students inner smartness. It is to help teachers and self-study practitioners become smart.
